Why this issue matters

First appearance (cover) of Lockheed - the earliest appearance on record is a cover, not an interior story. An independent public reference points at Uncanny X-Men #166; because our earliest record here is not a standard story, this is most likely an indexing artifact rather than a genuine dispute.

First appearance (cover) of Bamf - the earliest appearance on record is a cover, not an interior story.

First appearance of Mean - the earliest non-flashback appearance on record for this character.

First appearance (cover) of Colossus - the earliest appearance on record is a cover, not an interior story.

First appearance (cover) of Pirate Kitty - the earliest appearance on record is a cover, not an interior story.

First appearance (cover) of Wind-Rider - the earliest appearance on record is a cover, not an interior story.

First appearance (cover) of Princess Jean - the earliest appearance on record is a cover, not an interior story.

First appearance of Dark Phoenix - the earliest non-flashback appearance on record for this character.

First appearance of Prince Cyclops - the earliest non-flashback appearance on record for this character.

First appearance of Wizard Xavier - the earliest non-flashback appearance on record for this character.

Before you buy

  • Canadian and Whitman editions exist for many bronze books; match the barcode area to the plate.
  • Look for Mark Jewelers inserts and date stamps - they affect collector preference, not authenticity.
